Inna Faliks

Hailed by The New York Times for her "grandly conceived" performances, Ukrainian-born American pianist Inna Faliks is internationally recognized for her fearless artistry, poetic musicianship, and imaginative programming. A recitalist, concerto soloist, recording artist, author, and educator, she has earned acclaim for performances that combine technical brilliance with profound emotional insight while championing both the great works of the classical canon and the music of living composers.

Faliks has appeared as soloist with leading orchestras and in recital throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, performing in many of the world's foremost concert halls and festivals. Her repertoire spans centuries, from Bach and Beethoven to contemporary composers who have written works especially for her, including Richard Danielpour, Timo Andres, Billy Childs, Clarice Assad, Lev Zhurbin, Paola Prestini, and Peter Golub. She gave the world premiere of Danielpour's Eleven Bagatelles in 2019 and continues to be a passionate advocate for new music.

An acclaimed recording artist, Faliks's extensive discography includes acclaimed recordings devoted to Beethoven, Schumann, Ravel, and contemporary American composers. Her recent albums, including Reimagine: Beethoven & Ravel, The Schumann Project, and Manuscripts Don't Burn, reflect her commitment to illuminating familiar masterworks alongside compelling contemporary voices.

Beyond the concert stage, Faliks is the creator and curator of Music/Words, an innovative performance series that combines music with literature, poetry, and personal storytelling. She also tours internationally with Polonaise-Fantasie: The Story of a Pianist, an autobiographical monologue-recital exploring music, memory, and identity. In 2023 she published her memoir, Weight in the Fingertips, praised for its moving reflections on immigration, artistic life, family, and the transformative power of music.

A dedicated teacher and mentor, Faliks serves as Professor and Head of Piano at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, where she leads one of the country's premier collegiate piano programs. Her students have gone on to successful performing careers, and she is a sought-after master teacher at festivals and institutions around the world.
